Diagonal is a nickname, not a dimension
Displays are sold by diagonal, but touch frames are built to millimetres. A "55-inch" television's cabinet might measure 1232 × 715 mm from one brand and 1245 × 722 mm from another, and an overlay built to the wrong one annunciates the error as a visible step at the bezel. This guide gives the measuring method that turns a nickname into an order, and the size ladder this catalogue actually builds.
Measure these four numbers
- Overall width and height of the display cabinet, front face, in millimetres.
- Active area — the picture itself, width × height (or the visible diagonal and aspect ratio).
- Bezel landing width — the flat border available around the picture for the frame profile to sit on.
- Depth and obstructions — front-face protrusions, logos, IR receivers, camera bumps.
With those four, a frame drawing is exact. With only the diagonal, it is a hope. The inquiry form asks for exactly these numbers.
The catalogue size ladder
| 15″–24″ | Counter terminals, machine fronts, compact kiosks — panel and kit territory |
|---|---|
| 27″–43″ | The integrator sizes: 43″ LV-43 kit anchors this band |
| 49″–65″ | Classrooms, meeting rooms, signage — 55″ and 65″ frames are the volume builds |
| 70″–98″ | Feature walls and large teaching surfaces — catalogue frames to 98″ |
| 100″+ | Spliced and custom frames — see large format |
Aspect ratio still matters
Legacy 4:3 displays persist in industrial and gaming estates; the catalogue keeps 4:3 panels (17″ and 19″) in the panel family for exactly that reason. When measuring a 4:3 set, state the ratio explicitly — a 19-inch 4:3 cabinet and a 19-inch 16:10 cabinet are different frames that share a nickname.
Viewing distance: the other sizing rule
For rooms, size follows the furthest viewer: roughly, a teaching or meeting display wants one inch of diagonal per 25–30 cm of room depth for content-heavy use. The meeting room page applies the rule room by room. Oversizing is a cost error; undersizing is a usability error that no calibration can fix.
