What an infrared touch frame is

An infrared touch frame is a slim aluminium profile that mounts around the bezel of an existing display. One edge carries infrared LED emitters, the opposite edge carries receivers; together they maintain a dense light grid just above the glass. A finger, glove or stylus interrupts the beams, and the controller triangulates the interruption into touch coordinates. Because the sensing happens in the frame — not in a film on the panel — the display itself stays untouched, image clarity is unaffected, and the same frame design scales from a 15-inch kiosk screen to a spliced 500-inch wall.

The YCL Touch infrared frame range is the manufacturer's founding product family: 19 catalogue models, aluminium alloy housings, and a stated sensing resolution of 32768 × 32768 across the line. Every model connects over USB and is powered from the same lead (USB 5V), which keeps retrofits to a single cable.

Choosing a size

Frames are specified by the display's diagonal and outer dimensions, not by the panel's marketing size alone. A 65-inch TV from two brands can differ by several millimetres of bezel. Send the display model or its outer width × height in the inquiry form and we confirm the frame drawing before quoting. Custom sizes between catalogue points are a standard OEM request — see the size guide for what to measure, and the dedicated pages for the 65 inch, 55 inch and 43 inch frames.

Does the frame work with gloves or a stylus?

Yes. Infrared sensing reacts to any object that interrupts the light grid — a bare finger, a gloved hand, or a passive stylus of roughly 5 mm or more. That is why IR frames are common in industrial and outdoor-facing kiosks where capacitive screens struggle.

Will it work outdoors or in bright sun?

Direct sunlight on the sensing surface can interfere with infrared receivers. For sun-exposed installs, tell us in the inquiry — orientation, shading and model choice matter, and a PCAP panel or foil may be the better specification.

What standards do the frames carry?

The supplier describes the range as complying with CE and FCC requirements (individual listings also cite RoHS and related marks). Certificates are available upon request — ask for the documents for your specific model with your inquiry.
